The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) has begun consultations with representatives of political parties and groups. According to Le National, these consultations focus on the development of a new electoral calendar and the future electoral decree. The CEP says it wants to gather the concerns of those involved to better take into account the realities of the country in preparing for upcoming elections.

The difficulties raised by Soley

At the end of a meeting with the CEP, Francenet Denius, deputy national coordinator of the group Soley, stated that the exchanges highlighted several obstacles to the electoral process. He cited obtaining the documents required to form candidacy files, a problem particularly affecting candidates for territorial collectivities.

A first round without a date

Francenet Denius specified that no definitive date for the first round has been set at this stage. For him, the return of security across the entire territory remains an essential condition for holding the election.

What is still unknown

The sources consulted do not say which other parties or groups were received by the CEP. They also do not indicate when the new calendar will be finalized, nor what the new electoral decree will contain.

Rhinews mentions on its side Armstrong Charlot, a Senate candidate for the department of the West. However, available elements do not report his statements.
