Inter Milan turned the situation around against Fiorentina (2-1) during the 8th matchday of Serie A, thanks to two goals scored in stoppage time. Trailing after a goal by Alejandro Jimenez in the 65th minute, the team equalized through Marcus Thuram in the 90+1st minute with a remarkable left-footed strike. Piotr Zielinski scored the second goal by converting a penalty in the 90+7th minute following a handball in the box.

Inter, who had dominated heavily but could not find a way past Fiorentina goalkeeper David De Gea, prevailed thanks to their perseverance late in the match. This victory allows the Nerazzurri to tie with Lazio at the top of the Italian championship.

Inter Milan began this match hoping to overtake Lazio in the standings after their victory against Parma (2-1). The Milan players monopolized the ball throughout the match but had failed to score despite 73% possession and 24 attempts.
