The National Police Union of Haiti (SPNH-17) has asked the authorities for more medical and psychological support for active officers as well as retirees. According to Vant Bèf Info, some police work seven days a week for about 30,000 gourdes per month without a raise in several years. "If Haiti does not get leaders who work to strengthen the police, we will reach a point where we can no longer control anything," said Inspector Garry Jean-Baptiste, coordinator of SPNH-17, cited by Le National.
